Frequently Asked Questions.
What services are included in your dinner prices?
Your private sushi dinner experience is priced out to include a multi-course, omakase-inspired dinner, private chef(s), prep, service, and cleanup. In some cases, we will include an add-on travel fee for guests that reside outside of the Richmond area. Would you like to upgrade your dinner to include special drink pairings* or hands-on sushi classes? We can do that as well! We take pride in the collaboration process to deliver the perfect event for you and your guests.
*KASE Sushi does not serve alcoholic beverages, but we can build a menu that suits your event’s cocktail, wine or beer menu.
How much can I expect to spend on a KASÉ dinner?
Our multi-course dinners are customized for all our guests. We cater to dietary restrictions, flavor preferences, and special family accommodations. You can expect to see a 7-10 omakase-inspired dinner range anywhere from $100-$185 per person depending on the menu items selected and market prices at the time of purchase. Get in touch and let us know what you would like to see from KASE in your one-of-a-kind sushi experience.
What if my guest count changes before my event?
We know plans can change at a moment’s notice, and we sympathize with worst-case scenario situations when it comes to event planning. To secure an event, we ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit. If unforeseen circumstances prevent 50% or less of your guest list to cancel, we will simply adjust your final invoice the day-of your event to accommodate your new head count.
If you would like to add new guests to your event, please let us know at least 3 days prior to your event so that our chef(s) can prepare accordingly. Your final invoice on the day-of your event will include the newly added guests.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure your event. If you have to cancel for any reason, we cannot return your deposit. However, we can credit it to you for a rain-check! We will credit you that deposit if you rebook your event within 30 days.
What kitchen accommodations are required for a KASÉ dinner?
The best part of having an in-home sushi dinner is that there is little to no cooking equipment required! In special circumstances, our chef may need access to a stove or oven, but any specialty appliances will be provided by KASE Sushi.
What if we don’t finish all courses?
Our multi-course dinners are designed to give you a variety of flavors and textures, while leaving you full and satisfied at the end. If your eyes were bigger than your appetite, no worries! We will provide take-out boxes for you and your guests to save any uneaten courses*.
*Not all sushi dishes keep well overnight, but we will pack up your leftovers to the best of our abilities.
Do you charge a travel fee?
We do! We are a small, family-owned and operated business in Richmond, Virginia. We service our neighbors in the central and northern virginia areas, but require a $600 minimum spend for travel and charge $0.70 per mile outside of our 30-mile service radius.
Do you offer appetizers, drinks or desserts?
We offer appetizers and main sushi courses at every KASE Sushi dinner. Desserts can be requested during the free consultation, but drinks are not yet a part of our service offerings.
How much time is needed to prepare for a KASÉ dinner?
It varies according to group size, but you can expect our chefs to arrive for dinner prep 1-2 hours before dinner service.
Taking my little ones out to a sushi restaurant has always been a challenge. Do you offer kid-friendly courses?
We sure do! We are a family-operation with 2 toddlers, and we know too well the challenges of childhood allergies and picky eaters. Whether your little ones like simple california rolls, shrimp tempura, or even...dino nuggets, we can build you a menu that suits the whole family.
